Black Lace Beauty

I know the 80’s is a decade a lot of people dont like to consider ‘real’ vintage, (yes Im talking to you mom) and I do know what they mean, but truth be told anything over 20 years old is considered vintage, which means much of my terrible 90’s fashion faux pas are also about to be relabeled as’ vintage’ fashion faux pas.  What-evs, Ill deal with that when I have to, but for now Id like to focus on the 80’s.

I think the 80’s gets a bad wrap sometimes, I mean it wasn’t all bad, really was it? Yes, yes, there was an extreme over use of lycra, shoulder pads, white leather and dodgy perms but there was also um…  eh…mmm… I dunno, this dress. Ok, so maybe I have an extremely weak argument,(or none at all) but this is an 80’s dress and I defy anyone to challenge its fabulousness.

Its a black lace master-piece, thats what it is, gold flecks on the lace and all. It also has a full enough skirt, that much to my delight, when blowing in the wind became full and made me feel like a princess or a ballerina, a princess ballerina? Yes, I am in fact 8 years old.

You might also notice, that in the background,  there appears to be an intense amount of light shining. Not sure about this, but, I think it was the sun… I cant be sure now, because its gone and disappeared again, but it was pretty fabulous while it lasted x

WOWSA WOMAN! you seriously get hotter with each consecutive post. that dress is breathtaking.

i agree with you, the 80s was not all bad. i actually think the 80s was a really important decade for fashion. though a lot of it was really tacky, sure, the thing about the whole decade was that it took some serious risks. it really embodied a lot of what was going on at the time. now we see a resurfacing of certain 80s elements and doing them with our new modern sensibilities creates for a really great result. just look at the modern day power shoulders! they are gorgeous, but they wouldn’t exist without the 80s prototype!

Aw, shucks. Thanks missy xx So true about 80’s fashion, I thinkthat once you get past the acid wash denim and jellies, the 80’s wasn’t as bad as it seems (although I am glad we dont do the serious 80’s power shoulders anymore) :)
