Oh, so another race week has come and gone and all the locals of Galway can breath a sigh of relief. Phew. Yes, of course it brings in a huge amount of people and creates a bit of a ‘buzz’ if you will, but, for those of us working in the hospitality trade, it is a nightmare of the most hellish kind. Lots and lots of idiot drunks, puking in the streets, fighting, urinating in public and in fact one couple was spotted having sex outside a restaurant one evening. Oh the sophistication of it all.

On the Saturday of my trip to London, I was lucky enough to be in town for a vintage fair. (good timing) Its run by a company called The Vintage Fair and they travel around England, bringing vintage fairs to 15 different cities in total. Im so glad I found out about them because I intend to hit some more of their fairs in the future. (They host 1 at The Bloomsbury Lanes, bowling alley on the first weekend of every month)

Ok, when I last left you, I had visited several, well known, vintage stores on the East side of London. I actually went into a few more vintage stores that day, but I didn’t want to cram it all into one post… lest I bore you. Cant have that happening, now can we?
My next 3 shops were The Vintage store, The Vintage Basement, and House of Vintage. (spot a trend?) House of Vintage was definitely more like our own shop, in that it had lots of occasion wear. Some really gorgeous dresses, coats and hats. Vintage store was also super cute, it had rows of old red cinema seats and to be honest if I hadn’t been on a budget (a very tight budget) I would have been tempted to buy a few things here, loads of old cut off levis and cute shirts.

Well, as you all may or not know, I went to London last Thursday. I mean Friday morning, no thanks to Aer Lingus canceling my flight 5 minutes before boarding, with absolutely no warning of a delay or anything… no, I’m not AT ALL bitter. Honest. Just as well I have friends in Dublin that I could call at half 9 at night to come rescue me. (for those of you not in the know I live in Galway, which is a 3 hour bus journey away from Dubin) Like I said not bitter.

Apologies to anyone looking forward to the vintage look of the week! It was done today but as I am catching a flight to London this Eve, I wont have time to get the photos up until Monday!
Im going on a little vintage excursion, so Ill be back with plenty of fun pictures and goodies…. Keep watch X

Enchanted Vintage were very kindly offered the finale spot in a fashion show that was put on locally in aid of the charity Jigsaw. Jigsaw is a free and confidential (private) support service for young people, aged 15 – 25, in Galway City and County. We were very happy for such a wonderful opportunity because I think its important for people to know they have somewhere to turn when they need someone to talk to and Jigsaw is a wonderful support group.

Ah Paris, everything sounds so glamorous when spoken in french dont you think? This girl does. Well, I’m just back from a lovely four night stay and I have to say I loved everything about it, the sights, the restaurants, the bars, the sheer beauty of everything and everyone ,seriously the french people are ridiculously attractive, so be prepared to either step up your game or fade away into the background!

So Enchanted Vintage is off to Paris for 4 nights and I am super excited! Ive never had the opportunity to really see Paris and I just can not wait! Some time off, some time with my wonderful other half and some (ahem) time elbow deep in the wonderful Paris Vintage boutiques. Yay! So big apologies but I shall not be posting anything new until I get back next Tuesday/Wednesday.
Not to fear though I shall return with some lovely pictures, stories, and hopefully some new vintage pieces for the store! Untill then au revoir!

Well this past Sunday I took part in what I hope will be the first of many vintage fairs and I have to say I thought it was a great day! My mother has done a few Vintage fairs in Dublin but this was my first one and thankfully it was in Galway (break me in gently) The fair was held in The Galway Bay hotel and not only was there many other people there selling their vintage wares, from jewelery, furniture, old movie posters, and antiques of all kinds but there was a huge crowd of vintage lovers in attendance!
