So, summer hasn’t even arrived and already Im thinking of the onset of Autumn. It is with out a doubt, my favorite time of year for shopping. The A/W shows so far have not disappointed. While there are a few new trends I shall definitely NOT be trying (see the “new native” and “the future”) I was happy to see (as always) the influence of other decades in this seasons A/W collections.
Just so that we are clear btw, I am not really a trend follower. I buy what I like and what I think looks good. Whether it is considered this season or last seasons trend is of no concern to me really. I just love to see what the designers come up with next and how the high street will try and rip it off….
Up first Louis Vuitton. I can totally see Kate Winslet wearing this in Mildred Pierce, but, without the leather gloves… obvs. While I wasnt too taken with the dress or Kate Moss strutting and smoking (again, yawn) I was a wee bit in love with some of the shoes… gimme
and this bag… cause I cant help it, its gold plus it would be damn near impossible to lose, no?
Then we move over to Bottega Veneta doing the 1960s thing. Hello Mad Men anyone?
Then, then, then we have Frida Gianni and her genius skills at Gucci, working 1970s to perfection. Love. Pretty much all of it, especially the shoes… those teal snakeskin ones… yes please.
The most beautiful for me was this stunning sequin dress my Mui Mui. Its an updated version of the long 1930s-esque dress worn my Michelle Williams last year. This one is more 1940s,, but, I love them both.
The Italian in me that loves sparkle says yes… the rest of me ….well….. crap it says yes too. I know… I know…
Stop Judging me. Im off to the races in 2 days. I get to play dress up! Yippee! Cant wait to show you all what Im wearing, so stay posted! X
